Ordered Accessories for My 22" Weber

On Saturday I will be driving to Florida, so I've ordered some accessories for my 22" Copper Kettle that's at my place. I realize these aren't just for the kettle, but that's where I'll use them first. Here's what's in the mail!

Nice! I have the same IR gun. You will love it. I have been thinking about getting the other two. Let us know what you think.

That gun is especially nice to check the temp of your stone if you bake bread or pizza.

The Dragon and IR Guns will be VERY useful, especially if you have Grill Grates.

David Parrish, I noticed in the Dragon demo video that they used some lighter fluid, which MH considers a mortal sin. Any comment on that?

fuzzydaddy ... Good move dude! I have the BBQ Dragon and that same IR thermometer. I use them on both my 26" kettle and my BGE.

I preheat my pizza stone in my BGE without the top vent on and just point the IR thermometer to the stone through the top opening to see how hot it is.
The BBQ Dragon is really handy when doing a reverse sear on both the kettle or BGE.

You will love the IR gun. I use it pretty much daily. I use it even more in the kitchen than at the bbq area. It's really good if you have thick bottom stainless pans to know when they are hot enough. Darned SS takes so long to come to temp, I'm always tempted to put the food on too soon. I use the IR to hold myself back. I just made my own "BBQ Dragon" with a $9 usb powered clip on fan from Lowes and a 6" to 4" duct reducer and some duct tape. The 4 inch end fits perfectly around the intake baffle of my offset.

fuzzydaddy - I love my ThermoWorks gear. That IR gun will really come in handy. Congrats on a great purchase. Drive safely and come back and see us soon. Hug that new grandbaby, Cooper, for us. (I think that's his name if my old brain remembers correctly!)

I'm adding to this thread rather than starting a new one, so here goes...

Some inexpensive solutions for my kettle here in Florida.

                  1. (4) binder clips to tame the lid leak. Problem solved!
                  2. A repurposed metal table from a yard sale for about $15, plus some sandpaper and leftover paint.
                  3. The hot sun will cause the display on my Thermoworks ChefAlarm to not work until it is brought inside and cooled down, so I always put one of my welders gloves on top to protect it. Then I see rain approaching so I cover the glove in aluminum foil so it doesn't get soaked. Looks silly, but it works!

Uh, why not just use the aluminum foil without the glove?

It looked to be a period of alternating rain/sun, so by wrapping the glove I could handle both.
