Fuzzydaddy nailed it. The beauty is we're not really setting up a fuse, we're just adding a chimney of cold briquets to 12-15 well-lit briquets in the corner. Easy peasy.
Tip: If you have a Weber charcoal chimney, flip it upside down. Set a lighter cube (if you use them) in the center of the 'grate' in the chimney, and then pile your 12-15 coals on top. The downward angle of that grate when flipped upside down works perfectly to light a small number of coals.
@Jeff3, Yesterday while running a Cold Wx Test of The S 'n S-Weber-DigiQ Controller & Fan! I started with 20 Briquets of Kingsford BB Lit in one Corner of the S 'n S! I added 72 Briquets Unlit to the top! The Temps here in Fargo were +- 0* F all Day! I started at 11:00 AM and shut it down at 8:00 PM. The coals were running out as evidenced by the Temp Swings but the Grill Temp was still reading 216* F. I let the Temps Spike in the first few Hrs. But I think it it Fair to Say that 92 Briquets netted 9 Hrs. Grill Time! This test is going to be repeated Shortly! Hope this Helps You

We seem to get 8-10 hrs on the hottest summer day w/ one chimney and 8-10 hrs on the coldest winter day. 90° vs. 0°. I'd say that's pretty darn good! Thanks for your cold weather test Danjohnston949!
I wish I would have gotten the Temp down earlier! I think I have it nailed Now! That is if my Old Timer's Doesn't Get Mixed Up With My Add? Thanks Huskee! Dan
