    My new Rapala filet knife!

Oak Smoke's topic got me looking on Ebay and I picked up a new Rapala knife. This one is brand new, unused.

Brand new, someone got it at an estate sale and put it on Ebay. Cost me just under $20 shipped. Sucker is sharp!

Here it is next to my 7 year old Chinesium Rapala which has been serving me very very well and still gets quite sharp as hell enough to slice my finger (quite regularly, lol) with just a few swipes on my honing steel.

Oh and... I also have another one coming. lol. Identical to the one above, but used, has some wear, but looks ok, that one I paid $15.31 shipped. It should have been here yesterday, but USPS apparently got delayed for some reason or other.

I might get myself in trouble shopping for more knives on Ebay.

I picked up all my Victorinox knives on eBay and saved quite a bit. I didn’t buy any used ones and still got some bargains.

I buy knives on eBay. I restore and sharpen knives for one of my several hobbies. I usually give them away to friends. Used knives are frequently barely used but have cosmetic blemishes that don't affect function. Sometimes, I can get the scratches off but usually not worth the effort. But, I can restore them and make them cut better than new with razor sharp edges. I have fun with the "recycled" knives.

Buying on eBay requires patience. Many items are listed at prices higher than full retail. They usually don't sell but some do. I look for used items in reasonable and restorable shape.

Used the new Rapala this morning to debone and cube up 2 pork shoulders. Super sharp, really like it. Nice knife.
