    Rapala fillet knife

For those of you who might be interested I just picked up a Rapala fillet knife on eBay that was made in Sweden. It has a nice rubber composite handle and is stainless steel . According to the packaging it was manufactured in 2000. The seller claims to have 5 more of them. I gave $24.95 for it. Click image for larger version

Much better than the China ones. I have one rubber handled one, and 2 different sizes of the orignal wood handled ones with the leather sheath. One was my dad's, possibly my grandfathers.

texastweeter Thank you Adam. I’ve got several fillet knives also.but couldn’t resist one more. I probably use the Victorinox the most.

If you can find a buck oceanmate they are SOLID fillet knives. If I didn't have so many already, I'd grab one off ebay in a heartbeat. Ugly as he'll, but great.

Sweden? Now that’s top quality 😄

    Jokes aside, that’s a good knife 👌

I presume they haven’t been made there in a while there. The packaging on mine says 2000. I’m very pleased to have one. My great great grandmother was Swedish so it’s got to be good.

Awhile back I picked up a Schrade filet knife, US made, at an estate sale, prolly about $4. Leather sheath, takes a really nice edge.

I fish and have fished for over 50 yers now and my Rapala filet knifes are the best I ever purchased. Such quality steel and will hold and edge for a while. I have a four inch blade one I keep solely for fileting perch. You will be pleased with your purchase

I don't even use my Rapala fillet knife for fish, but it makes a great brisket trimming knife!

If I ever get back to fishing (probably with grandkids), I'll update my tackle box with one. Mine did come with a nice plastic sheath that is in the knife drawer in the kitchen, even though I keep all the knives in some drawer blocks.

Very nice! I'd order one but I have one already. I bought this version because it was basically the same one my grandparents used to filet perch and lake trout we'd catch in Michigan and Canada when I was a boy. Is it made in China?

Another Rapala knife lover here. They're internationally famous for good reason. I have many many Rapala fish baits too. But I pronounce the name ruh-PAL-uh, so there's that.

These are great knives. I love to use them for trimming brisket. The stiff blade and great edge are perfect. Plus, they are cheap.
