I have not since i have been more than happy with my worksharp but i love the idea and simplicity of this design, provided it works of course. Ive never got into whetstones because of the learning curve but this looks like it could vastly reduce that.

I bought a very thinly veiled knockoff called the Tumbler. Looks exactly the same but runs around $100. I found out after I ordered that it’s a ripoff. It worked amazingly until the roller stiffened up and became difficult to roll back and forth. If the Horl works as well as the Tumbler but is made better then it’s a win. Obviously I wouldn’t order the tumbler again knowing what I know

That is a sweet looking deal. Once my Amazon Gift Card gets high enough due to "apologies" for yet another jacked up order, I'll try her out. That's one thing, Amazon customer service is just that, SERVICE.
That thing would be darn near 5 star if people didn't complain about the price.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

Looks like a great product, but my concern would be sharpening longer knives would they stay on the magnet when the pressure is applied closer to the tip or base. Let us know if you get it what you think of it.

I haven't but seems pretty pricey, I'm not the most dextrous and would be concerned about something that relied a lot on my technique to get it sharpened right.
I got the electric sharpener recommended by ATK many years ago and it's been amazing for me, also cheaper by about 30 bucks (I am seeing $190 vs $156). Does all the same things, at least for cooking knives, and honing and converting to 15 degrees is pretty foolproof. I could understand if you weren't interested in something electric though. The Horl definitely has it beat in the looks department!
BTW, I'd be curious to know, are there some clear advantages or use cases to going with a whetstone like this over a diamond electric?

Sorry, but I'm thinking that this "Horl" gadget is a little too simplistic. While I'm sure it'll put an edge on a blade, it doesn't appear to allow you to fine-tune the actual sharpening angle for the fact that most knife blades are tapered. You may think you're sharpening at 15º ... but 15º from what? If your blade is tapered (as most are), you're measuring that 15º angle from the side of the blade that is stuck to the magnetic holder ... and not from the centerline of your tapered blade ... which means that you could be off by as much as several degrees.
Before dropping $$$ on it, I'd urge you to do a little research into one of the other excellent products out there that DO allow you to calibrate them very accurately. In my case, that would be one of the EdgePro Apex products (there are other brands with very similar capabilities). You'll find some excellent info (including videos) here: https://www.edgeproinc.com
Regardless of which you ultimately choose, good luck, have fun (and keep a supply of bandaids handy).

I have not tried this sharpener, to be honest, I really do not look for them anymore after I found this one from Worksharp.
I have the Ken Onion Edition from Worksharp. I love this thing. It sharpens everything from scissors to axes to knives. It is a great unit.
It makes sharpening super easy and there is a guide inside to make sure you are doing is correctly for each type of blade or tool.

I bought and use a similar sharpener from Canada https://honesharp.com called Hone. It works wonders on my knives. It’s simple to use. It’s best for keeping an edge, takes a little work to bring a dull knife to sharpness. Because it’s so simple to uses, I have no trouble using it frequently.

Based on this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwSalW9tV1Q), I've chosen the WorkSharp. Horl 2 looks quite simple to use, and that, I think, is it's best recommendation. But for quality results, the Ken Onion WorkSharp looks the best.
