Kind of reminds me of a one-handed Ulu knife, might be able to get a rolling motion for chopping down veggies to a fine mince, but I'll pass too. I have one Dexter knife, and I like it, though I have tended to gravitate toward Mercer for knives in this price range.

Backyard Jambo, T1000 Woodmaster, MAK 2 star, 14" & 22" WSM, 2x 22" Weber Kettle, Stoven, Hot Box Grill, Hasty Bake Ranger, RecTeq Bullseye, GMG Davy Crockett; Original Grilla and others I'm not remembering!
I have a Dexter and it's okay. I'm a big fan of Lamson, but their prices have gone through the roof! I have Wusthof knives that are my competition kit. For the price, I think Victorinox is the best deal out there. Hold an edge well.

Large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer Deluxe, Weber Smokey Joe Silver, Fireboard Drive, 3 DigiQs, lots of Thermapens, and too much other stuff to mention.
I think it’s to get your hand over the blade, probably something ergonomic about the choice.
The more I used my favorite knife, the more my grip evolved to a natural pinch grip. 10 years ago I held the knife by the handle and held my index finger on top of the blade.
Eventually I removed my finger… wait, let me rephrase that, eventually I moved my finger to hold the knife by the handle with my whole hand.
Now I hold the blade in a pinch grip and rest the heel of the handle in my palm.
I think this knife just puts the relationship between the blade and your hand where it should be, without any adjusting.
