Fireboard with a blower

My fireboard will be delivered tomorrow. The question I have is - Do I have to use Fireboard's blower with it? If I can use a different blower, do I just buy the controller cable from Fireboard, and then whatever 3rd party blower I want? I am asking because the Fireboard blower is only 20 cfpm and I'd like to get the billows blower from Thermoworks, but may decided on something else in the end. Thank you!

You need the fireboard "drive cable" sold separately by fireboard The fan output is a 0-12 V out barrel plug which works with many fans (though not some proprietary designs out there). I use a BBQGuru fan with mine.

For me the FireBoard controller works well with the Pit Viper fan on my 22” Weber Kettle

Awesome. Thank you, guys. I went ahead and ordered the fan from BBQGuru, because of all the mounts that are available for it - that should make it real simple to move between my different cookers.

Love the Pit Viper fan from the BBQGuru guys. With its adjustable vent it can be used on a variety of cookers.
