Maverick XR50 probes

The XR50 probes are stated to be "hybrid" probes. Does this mean I can use the longer probes as ambient air probes if I'm trying to monitor pit temperatures across all 4 probes? Firing up a new to me vertical smoker and I would like to look at the temperature on all 4 grates to get the variance between them.

My understanding is yes - that all the probes are rated to the same temperature.

How do I know. Did the same test in my vertical with XR50.
