Was finishing a pastrami and decided to use my Fireboard and fan with my WSM to accomplish the taste. Short cook, maybe hour and a half. Anyway been having trouble with Channel 3, actually thought it was a bad probe, on the previous cook. Boiled a pot of water to check all my probes and the Fireboard, on all channels started going in and out. It would first show a reading then 'no activity' then bounced back for 10 seconds or so then no activity. Shut it off, re-started same deal. Used a variety of old and new probes so it's not probes but the unit. It's Sunday on a holiday weekend so can't call them unfortunately.
Anyone experience this issue ? Man I'm bummed out, it's like loosing my best friend
Mine has acted up at times. Most recently was Friday on a brisket cook. It was all over the place, cut in and out a time or two and the fan logic was way messed up. Several reboots cleared it up and worked like a champ. I have had issues with channel 1. Seems like a loose connection and if I move the FB, it will cut in and out.

I’ve had mine cut in and out a couple of times also. Thought it was just a fluke. But now I’m wondering 🤔. Hope this isn’t the start of something bad with FB.

Not a FB user ... but I've had other electronics go a little nuts (including a ChefAlarm). Removing the batteries for a while can sometimes help. Might be worth trying ...
Battery is built in, would have to disassemble. Electronics can be a really pain in the butt, especially one that you really like and count on. Using my WSM yesterday sucked without my fan
When I do call FB on Tuesday presumably, I'm going to throw the "I'm a member of the Amazingribs Pit" out there and see if that will get their attention. Seeing that others are having similar issues maybe we can nip this thing in the bud. Thanks for the feedback guys, anyone else out there having similar problems????
Mine gives me no problems whatsoever. Of course, I just got it last week and used for the first time yesterday, but so far so good. Kidding aside, I hope they provide some excellent CS.
I have long considered gittin a Fireboard...havin multiple probes, wifi, cook loggin, fan control etc. seems like a powerful, versatile, winning combination of features...plus, they're located purty close to here...(KCMO)
So far I have resisted, somehow. I'm still jus as interested, but now think I would like to see how this all plays out.
I'm hopin answers will be found, an that Fireboard CS makes good fer everyone.
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

The thing about new products is you can't tell how long they're going to last until you start seeing patterns among the owners. I think highly of the ol' Maverick ET 732, tried & true. I also think highly of the new Maverick XR-50, but they're far too new to know how long they'll last. Hopefully FB does you right, and addresses what makes them go prematurely wonky for future owners.
I just sent mine back on Thursday for the exact same problem. I noticed my Fireboard said my beef was 135° but it look more well done than that. My Thermapen said it was 155°. When I did the ice/boiling water checks it also read "no activity." I am waiting for a response.
Sorry to hear that. I got a handful of probes and remotes from 'overseas'. Sorry to say that too. But they're disposable, and I'm keeping 8 yo's employed.
Hmmm. I quit using my channel 1 a while back because I was never sure it made a good connection when the probe was plugged into the box. It had been pretty erratic. Plus, I've had trouble lately getting the bluetooth function to auto start a session when I don't have wi-fi connectivity, but that may just be the "operator headspace" is out of adjustment! I've had my FB since a couple months after it came out, and I use it regularly. I did have occasion to call CS about a year ago, and they were great about fixing the problem I had operating the unit.
I too have had issues with my FB. Today while cooking a brisket, I could not get a clear rating on channel 3. Changed probes and moved it to 5 and everything seemed ok. But, previous cooks have required some rebooting to get a good reading. Will be very interested in what their response to you is.
My G2 runs so steady, I am about ready to remove the FB from it and only use it on the kettle. I got it primarily for overnight cooks and peace of mind. Right now, I spend as much time monitoring my phone for FB issues as I do in monitoring the smoker.
