    Thermapen Nano

So here it is, the newest, fastest instant read thermometer from Thermoworks. It actually won't officially launch until next Monday, but here's a video based on a preproduction unit: Thermoworks Thermapen Nano Review | The Fastest Instant Read Thermometer Yet?

I stopped at 4 tenths of a second. If it shows me a temp that fast, it will take me at least 30 seconds to react. On a good day.

That's why I have a cheap o and it works just fine. I'll see the temp read out then it takes another 4 seconds to comprehend...

    Need a price...

Probably not worth upgrading, but might be worth it when it's time to replace.

We'll see. If I had to guess I'd say 10% higher than TP-1. But, since they've clearance priced the whole inventory of TP-1 and there's more competition today than ever before, they may surprise and come in a tad lower (speaking in terms of list, not sales prices).

Sorry, Not interested in something that accurate. Now what do I have to blame for a whut ohh, or a SUWYC.

I haven't heard anything about pricing... I didn't see it in that video. Since they're completely discontinuing the Thermapen One, I'm hoping it's going to be in the same range? ~$100 (or less, hopefully?).

Because even at 1-2 seconds to get a good read, holding your hand over that 700º gets HOT! lol

So true, but now I just wear a glove.

Really though... it's kinda just like my home network and running 10Gbps and 25Gbps connections. Not because I need it - but just because I can!

I have the unit before the Thermopen One. I bought it used from glitchy a couple years ago. He put an add on protector with magnet in it so I have that covered. Temps are a couple seconds to settle. But that’s just fine. I wear a glove if using a hot grill. And as pointed out by others, my old, tired, and sometimes very slow brain couldn’t keep up with this new unit anyway.

I’ll buy one when the one I have finally craps out though. But it will be because of the Thermopen quality. Not the speed.

I imagine, they're probably targeting the professional chef's and kitchen more so, with something that fast. I have the older Thermopen, prior to the One, and I've been fine with it.

I do have a One in the package standing by in case, but so far I haven't needed to open it up, other than to check it when I first got it. If both of these bite the dust, I'll save up and get this one, but it may be a long while before I do. Also have a few ThermoPop's as backups, too.
