For ease of transport there should be no problem in checked baggage. While supposedly allowed in carry on it is up to each officer’s discretion. I was pulled over for additional inspection once because they didn’t like the coiled wire and thought that was suspicious. Officer looked at me and said okay. If I wasn’t an old white guy who knows.
Having flown alot lately and going again next week, I have found TSA officers and procedures do vary per airport. I would only put them in checked baggage. 3 weeks ago in DFW, everyone and everything at our gate was also subjected to a drug dog search. In August, I flew with someone in a wheelchair and in Wyoming, TSA swabbed her and the wheelchair for gun powder residue.
BTW, just don't pack any tortillas, just ask SheilaAnn

I thought I should mention the dreaded “SSSS” (Secondary Security Screening Selection) on your airline ticket. That is the TSA code for you being selected for enhanced screening which will be printed near the bottom of your ticket. If you see that put everything in your checked bag.
To quote Arlo Guthrie you’ll get “ injected, inspected, detected, infected, neglected and selected.”
I tried to get the TSA precheck and they denied my original,72 year old, hand written, non embossed birth certificate from Ohio. I requested and received an updated official birth certificate with the seal from Ohio and I have not tried the TSA precheck process yet.
If you ever travel to a foreign country, even Mexico, Canada or the Caribbean, spend the extra $25 and get CBP’s Global Entry instead. It includes TSA Precheck and is honored in Canada as the equivalent of their PreCheck program. Also good at land border crossings. If you have experienced the long waits at Customs in Houston or Miami airports, it will get you through in less than 15 minutes.
