Last week I used my Fireboard for a cook. The ambient probe was way off. I unplugged it from the Fireboard and plugged it in again. Still way off. I think it was 2017 when I bought the Fireboard, so I thought that was a pretty good lifespan for a probe. I threw it out and ordered another ambient probe. I also ordered another meat probe while I was at it 'cause I thought I should have one in reserve.
Today I started another cook and used a meat probe for ambient temps. It was way off again. Uh oh - maybe the probe I trashed wasn't bad. I move the meat probe to one of the meat ports, and it seems to be working correctly. That means that it's the Fireboard unit that is faulty, and the old probe is no longer recoverable.
So if ya have a probe go bad, check it in another port to make sure it is the probe that is bad.

I have already emailed Fireboard, and I have received their standard reply that they have received my quiry as to the next step.
