A comprehensive review of the RFX

    By ENGADGET

ThermoWorks' long-awaited wireless grill probe doesn't pack all of the sensors inside a single device, which means its readings are more accurate than the competition.

I know that I’ve been happy with mine.

I love mine. I also got a Meater + at the same time and there’s no comparison. I’m sure I’m going to end up buying more probes.

Worth the cost? I have sticker shock.

I have the 2 probe kit. And yes I'm impressed with the accuracy, connectivity and the ease of setup/use. At some point in time, I might get 2 more probes. Compared to the TempSpike well worth it investment.

Yes, I bought 4 probes and I don't regret it. I am using for meats that I do two zone direct grilling. I am hitting my intended temps spot on.

Yeah, it’s kinda spendy…but then, a lot of ThermoWorks stuff is. That said, I think it’s a great system…and accurate…at least when comparing the temps to my Thermapen One.

I got the 4-probe setup. And though I’ve only used it a handful of times, I’ve been impressed.

I got one about a month ago and love it so far. It was simple to set up and easy to use. And of course it is extremely accurate and precise.

I do wish there was a hand held remote unit like the Smoke X4 has though. Would rather just glance at that than have to open my phone every time I want to check the temperature.

But other than that it is excellent. Anything that helps me avoid washing the dirty probe wires gets a thumbs up from me.

I also wish they would come up with a wireless air probe to use with it. Hopefully they have that in development.

On my iPhone, the Thermoworks app stays open and does not shut off. I think that there is an option for that setting although I don't remember where it was. It works just like the Smoke x remote, you don't have to open your phone to look at it.

Love my RFX. And I know I’m not even using it to its full potential.
