Christmas rush ain't nuttin' for ThermoWorks. I ordered the Smoke X4 on 12/03 and received it this morning. I decided that I didn't need yet another app.
I love that they include a little sample of Jelly Belly jelly beans.
I told my husband not to worry about a Christmas present for me.
Merry Christmas to me.
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

Bud has always been my barley pop.
Been smoking a handful of years, just got serious in the last two or three years. Thanks to AR n @glemn picked up an SnS Kamado for appx 1/3 price of new. I dont think he used it twice. Love AR! keep calm n smoke on! Miss you Bonesy.
I wasn't a Signals fan myself since I like the standalone receiver, but TWorks' stuff is top notch regardless. The SnS-500 is the one I still use every day until it dies (plus I have 1 or 2 in a box new still from sales, ha ha). If I need more than 4 probes or have 2 sep. cookers going I add the X4 into the mix.
You definitely have things covered. I have a Thermapen and a DOT, but I wanted something that could monitor the air temp. If I ever cook something that needs to be rested or wrapped for a long time, I would get one of the wireless probes.

Congratulations on the new setup! I know you will be happy with it. I have the Signals, a Thermapen Mk 4, a Thermapen One, and now an RFX. I love all of my Thermoworks gear. Truth be told, before my wife got me the RFX, I was considering getting the Smoke X4, because I kind of like the idea of a separate remote so I don't have to fiddle with my phone when my hands are gloved. Who knows, maybe I will make the purchase some time when Thermoworks has another sale...
Wow, thanks for the confidence boost on my purchase. I had been looking at what people use, and it wasn't helping with a decision. The Smoke went on sale and looked like it would be all I need without using an app. Looking forward to trying it out.
