Fireboard 2 Drive - Screen burn in.

I pre-ordered teh Fireboard 2 Drive. I've had it, right at 4 years and use it constantly.
I've been really happy with the unit, and the customer support.

I'm starting to notice some screen burn in - in two spots.
First - the black box around the channel number. It's worse than these pictures show.



2) When viewing just 1 channel, and the temperature is in BIG numbers, places where the different numbers overlap - like the sides of 5, 8, and 0 - are starting to burn in.


This is mostly a minor issue. The unit still does what it is supposed to do. I mostly use my phone to check the data, so even if the screen completely dies, the unit will be useful.

I've brought this up with fireboard and hoping that they could introduce something like a screen saver mode, that turns the screen off, when it's laid flat.
We'll see.

But after 4 years of moderate to heavy use, this is really the only issue I've had, and it's purely cosmetic. I'm not really complaining.

It is tough to tell fro the pictures, but I am sure it is happening after all that time. I am surprised that the screen does not sleep after a while. As long as it keeps working, that is the main thing. I, like you, just check my phone anyway.

This reminds me of growing up...........I remember my Dad not wanting me to plug my Sega into the main TV in our house growing up. He did not want the NHL 91' score to be burned in to the upper right hand corner of the screen. LOL.

The pictures don't really show the issue well. Taking a digital picture of a digital screen is weird.

After emailing Fireboard - they were very prompt with a solution. There IS a place, in the settings, where the screen will turn off, after 10.mins.

So the solution is already there, I just didn't know about it .

Again it's an ID ten T issue
