I have not attempted to update, but am impressed with Combustion's value added approach. I don't get very far from a cook, and typically have a fairly good idea when things will be done, so these add-ons are nice but not critical. A somewhat expensive but outstanding product.
I got my Combustion mainly for my holding oven since wires don't play nice with that door. I may try this on my next brisket cook. I have that extra display/range extender. I'll see if the tablet plays nice.

This was an easy update to now have CI’s “Meat-Net”. It is similar to what Meater has had for months. Theirs is called “Meater-Net”. Basically they are leveraging the WiFi of your smartphone or Apple device to have a cloud capability without having to support WiFi directly on their devices.
