A nice Thermapen holder from Thermoworks

One advantage to getting a brightly colored Thermapen is that it is easy to find in the drawer.

BUT. If you have a neutral colored one, or your drawer is building clutter and it is often hard to find, and you see a benefit to storing it somewhere else, Thermoworks offers this:

There’s a hole to screw mount it, but no way I’m drilling into the quartz. I used gorilla tape, and anyhow it’s fine sitting on the counter next to the stove. $15. I wouldn’t order it stand alone because of the shipping cost, but it’s worthwhile to add it to an order during one of TW’s frequent sales, like the current 20% off sitewide.

You are right about the bright colored pens…mine is green and is easy to pick out. I can see how black would just mix in with everything.

    Thanks for sharing this!

That’s cool! I would like a holster for mine. Being a Texan I of course want a leather one, but I would use it.

"I have two Thermapens, one for each of you." I know it's from "Tombstone," but I love that line.

Yep, every one I purchased also got that case. The only downside is that it masks the colour almost completely.

If you’ve got more to store like me, their zippered case is great for holding your ThermoWorks Smoke and the Thermapen.
In mine I have the Thermopro instant read.

Specializing in cool, unique and professional temperature tools. Super-Fast thermocouples, thermistors, infrared thermometers, data logging and more.

I've got this as well. Really wish TW would include it with the Smoke, but well worth paying a couple bucks extra for (especially if you keep your bbq thermometers, probes, etc in the garage).

Yes sir, I keep mine in the garage too. Great for keeping everything in one place and dust free.

I also have this, it hold my smoke and wifi booster. And one spool for my air probes 🔥🔥🐿️

That's why I got the orange one. Or maybe it's red. Either way, I'd say it is the best tool in the arsenal. At the very least, the most used. Can't pile up enough superlatives for the Thermapen.

I have a bright green Thermapen, but the Thermapen One is the Operation BBQ Rescue version, and it came in black. Which I liked, until it became such a PITA to find!

I have the same case as Panhead John. Smoke, receiver, DOT and grate clips. I have their spools for probes, not pictured. And this case for the Thermapen

        Same.
They cheaped out on the case, though.
The thermometer on top has two magnets.
The one in the bottom only has one.

I too have found their hanging bracket useful, though I bought the stainless steel one (and, yes, on sale with other items to rationalize shipping costs). I put a chunk of magnetic tape on the back so that it will stick to the sides of most of my cookers, allowing me to move it to whatever device I'm working with at any time.

One of the reasons I bought the bright green one!

I was using my Primo XL today to do some beef short ribs with bourbon baked beans, my not so trusty Maverick ET-733 let me down today, it was reading incorrectly (low)and by the time I looked at the dial thermometer on the Primo lid it was close to 350F, so much for low and slow. I changed the batteries and tried to check calibration in boiling water with no success so I ordered a Thermoworks smoke. The Maverick was difficult to program as well, I am sure I will not miss it when the new one arrives. I have had the Maverick since March of 2017. I have a Thermoworks classic instant read thermometer now and like it.

I have serious issues with having too many thermometers. The Thermopen is always in my apron, I have one Thermo pop in a jar on kitchen counter, one outside in a drawer, a FB spark attached magnet in fridge or outdoors….

red colors indicate outdoors, orange indicated indoors.
