Maverick STAKE Truly Wireless Food Thermometer - BT-30

I wasn't aware of this product until just now. I wonder how it compares to the competition?

Great price, says nothing abt ambient temp as well as IT temps. I would need more info.

The four hours on one charge makes it worthless in my view.

This is obviously not designed for super long cooks, like a brisket. You're judging the usefulness of the tool on an application for which it isn't intended. Pretty sure that no one does 4+ hour rotisserie cooks.

pkadare fair enough. I don’t own a rotisserie so clearly not a target customer. Hope it could be handy for you then.

I did a PB for my first rotisserie, it was awesome w/ @ RichardChrz pork rub. I used a meater plus. Price point about the same and it does ambient as well as IT.
Positive it was more than four hours.

I'm holding out for Fireboard or Thermoworks to come out with a wireless thermometer. They are the best at what they do. When either one of them do it's going to check all the boxes.

I wouldn't discount Maverick, they're good at what they do.

Tempted to have an excuse to fire up the rotisserie again.

Could always ditch it on Ebay.

I'm interested. It wouldn't replace my Maverick XR-50, but it looks like a possible solution for rotisserie cooking.

I could see that. When I transferred to oven n shut the door the connection was lost.

Mine is rather useless. I had an early one, from the Kickstarter, and all ambient probes read different temps sitting beside each other, and not by a degree, several degrees, each! Signal range was laughable- wouldn't reach from inside my kettle right outside my slider door into my house, 6' if that. I hope they've improved since those days, but since the release was delayed by ~2 years so they could "get it right" and then this is what I received, I simply haven't had much hope for them since.

I love my Meater, have few connection problems so long as it has a full charge and battern in base is good. I have used it on overnight cooks with no issues.

I remember seeing (or thought I saw) a controller that used the Meater as sensor for ambient and meat temps, anyone else see anything like that?

It doesn't work in an ovev as it it enclosed in metal, does your cell phone work in a bank valult? LOL
