Combustion Inc. - Great sense of humor

I’m not trying to push their product, but it does seem promising. If you haven’t looked at their site since they’ve updated for pre-orders, you should check it out just for their sense of humor alone, especially some of the FAQ’s: https://combustion.inc

I have a pre-order in, but I’m still debating some things in my mind, like Bluetooth only and open broadcasting of info to anyone nearby. Maybe Fireboard will announce some wireless probes before these ship and they’ll get thousands of cancels…who knows. Seems like they could have made the timer/base station WiFi so things could be monitored if you have to run a quick errand, but their focus seems to be more quick cooking rather than all day from a marketing POV.

The heat transfer language warms the cockles of my engineer's heart. The tongue-in-cheek FAQ is pretty solid, too.

I'm skeptical a bit, but I like the idea of multiple TC's through the length of the probe.

As far as FAQs go, it is a very well done and informative one. They have clearly thought things through and got a lot of good feedback from the beta testers. There seems to be a lot of potential in terms of data analysis and connecting to other devices so we will see what happens.

As a side note, what is your order number glitchy ?

I missed the first preorder but they gave me a $20 discount to provide my email and another $20 for receiving texts. Thats almost 25% discount. I'm a fan of modernist cuisine and have their sous vide. Based on my experience with that product I anticipate this will deliver 🥩🍷🔥🌈🐿
