If I remember correctly and I can’t remember anything. My meater plus cost about 100 bucks and I got a 20% discount on it and it ended up running around 79 bucks and change. came right away and I just used it on this last rotisserie cook. When I put the butcher paper wrapped product in the oven the minute I close the oven door there was no connectivity. Only had 100-150 feet thru glass. App does not play well with others. I put the Meater app on an old I-phone six I still keep charged with no chip.

Latest update. They seem like a good team.
———-
Dear Abundantly-patient Cooking Person Bad news from testing. Not 100% bad; but bad enough to screw up ship dates. Your order will now arrive in early August. That’s not what we promised. We apologize for the delay.
New Ship Date: Early August
Most of the production validation tests for the Predictive Thermometer went as smoothly as we could’ve hoped. The electronics performed superbly–gold stars all around. But during lifecycle testing there were some failures during extreme conditions (repeatedly boiled and then shocked in an ice bath). These failures only occurred after dozens of rounds of abuse, and only some devices failed.
We’ve spent the last week bombarding thermometers with x-rays to see inside, and then carefully cracking open the failed devices.
Good news: we found the leak and modified the seal and assembly process. Bad news: we have to revalidate these changes, which will delay the start of mass production to early July and shipping early August.
We want your Predictive Thermometers to last years and years, even under extreme conditions. We won’t ship anything that doesn’t meet our standards and unfortunately, getting it right can take a bit longer. We're confident it'll be worth the wait.
Thanks again for your patience.

Cocktails: Alton Brown turned me onto boulevardiers. That has become my travel cocktail. At home it is usually spiced rum, vodka, or whisky mixed with ginger ale.
Planning on a DIY smoker. **Those plans got scrapped. Between the PBC and the SnS, a DIY smoker project has moved way down the list. Now I want to build an Argentinian style grill!

No restrictions with me (love meats, cheese, veggies, etc...) however a friend I often cook with has celiac so I avoid gluten in my cooking. (PS. Stone delicious is a gluten reduced beer that he highly recommends )

I just got my text and a code for $40 off. . . I've probably lost my mind but I ordered the double barrel set. I sincerely hope these are the last thermometers i ever purchase because they were steep. The allure of no wires, indestructible housing, long range, and superior accuracy have persuaded me though. Says it will ship in August. . . 🔥🔥🔥🔥ðŸ¿🔥ðŸ¿🔥ðŸ¿🔥ðŸ¿

I asked about the ability to share cooks on online forums and Chris wrote back with the following:
"Initially the app will have the ability to export logged data as a simple CSV file. We have some plans around adding more robust cook sharing features into the app"most likely as part of adding cloud services—but this won't be available at launch.â€
I am excited about the eventual cloud services! That will let me check the temps from anywhere, not just within WiFi range, as well as more effectively share cooks here. Awesome.

Now late October…
———
Hello,
August has come and gone and you’re probably wondering when your order will ship.
Here's what’s happening: we ran into lots of small challenges trying to go from making thermometers ten at a time to making hundreds at a time for testing and validating the production line. Things like the wrong components arriving. Or learning we had to automate some assembly steps, because doing it by hand was too slow and imprecise (those thermosistors are freaking tiny).
These aren't unusual problems when setting up for mass production, but each one stalled everything until it was sorted, and each one compounded the delays.
We’re running our manufacturing line again next week to try out all the changes we’ve made,
with a goal of making 100-ish units that will be used for internal testing and beta testing. If this goes as expected, then our manufacturing partner will be set up to make thousands of units – the ones you’ve been so patiently waiting for.
However, there’s another complication: Golden Week (it’s a long Asian holiday; Oct. 1-7). We won’t be able to complete the initial preorder production run and ship units to our warehouse before the holiday.
Right now mass production is scheduled to start at the end of September, but won't be completed until the week after this holiday. This means preorder customers won't start receiving their orders until about two weeks after that (to allow time to get product from our factory, through customs, into our warehouse, and then shipped to you). So this makes delivery of your preorder in late October a realistic estimate based on what I know today.
It’s frustrating, I know. I thought we’d get this done in July and, well, obviously, that didn’t happen.
Understandably, many of you will think we should have shared this info sooner, or anticipated these problems. For that, I apologize. I’m sorry for not being more transparent with the challenges our team has been working through this summer. And if our delays have ultimately become too much, please email us and we’ll be happy to refund your purchase. No hard feelings, I hope.
I’ll send another update when we’ve completed our next manufacturing test (mid-Sept).
Thanks for your continued patience,
Chris Young

My only regret about purchasing the Meater+ is that I didn't buy the Block with 4 probes. I couldn't be happier with mine and it is so nice not to fool with wires that get in the way and have to be cleaned all the time. Not to mention, the wires eventually fail and have to be replaced.

MsTwiggy it's a game changer for sure. The only drawback is that you aren't able to choose the placement of the ambient temp thermometer for the most accurate read. It's gonna be sticking right out of the meat, and sometimes that throws it off a bit. But it's really no biggie.

Isn't that one of the positives? Since the ambient temperature is right near the meat, it should be a little lower than the pit temp (I assume from the evaporative cooling that is happening on the surface of the meat.) But, that is what you want to measure since that is the temperature of the air that in contact with the meat, and thus that is the true temperature of the air the meat is cooking in. Certainly correct me if I'm wrong!hoovarmin "The only drawback is that you aren't able to choose the placement of the ambient temp thermometer for the most accurate read.
