+1 on short skewers. Except mine are already less than 4" and technically turkey lacers. I picked them up for 10 cents a pack after Thanksgiving last year

You guys have been amazing with your responses - which is exactly right given the name of this community! So a little more backstory. I'm really not about pinning bacon to steak, but then I haven't tried it. However, if you pin or staple bacon to pork chops I'm sure you will get some nice accolades. I appreciate all your great ideas. I'm going to try the stainless steel roofing nails first. They're cheap - and the perfect compliment to my oil drum smoker and bargain basement lifestyle! Thanks everyone.

Welcome from Winnipeg. I would just use a turkey lacer. Easier to see it sticking out. I vote with the people who don’t want bacon on a steak, but it is good on a meatloaf, or fattie, or pork tenderloin, or.....
