I use a bamboo board that I have had for about 5 years now. Works great. Think it was like $25 at Target. I would like a Boos board, but just haven't pulled the trigger on that one yet. Not sure I need that at this point.

We have two weber kettle grills (one LARGE and one small/average), the SnS and the Weber Smokey Mountain 18" smoker. We use both natural lump charcoal and KNB for smoking and measure our temps with a Maverick 733, thermopen and MK4. Favorite beer depends on what is cooking (alt answer is yes).

I worked for a machine shop last year and they were throwing out an old (60 yrs) wood shop table. The table was edge-grain construction. I broke the table down into two large cutting boards and had it finished at a wood working community workshop. Found out from the owner that he believed the wood to be hard eastern ash. Not the best wood to make a cutting board out of, but not the worst either. Gave them as Christmas presents to my two nephews who are close to 30 and starting to get into cooking.
