Way to go Moonbeam! I'm showing this post to my wife tonight, see if I can guilt her into getting some moon light of my own. Alas I think I can hear her response already...... "shine on pal!"

Butchman Troutman That's Pub Phun. We FINALLY finished this room a few weeks ago. My favorite place on earth! I usually keep 4 kegs in the bar, but I haven't had time to brew a single batch this year. We collect ANYTHING Falstaff. Falstaff has history here in Galveston and her dad worked there as well.

                    Pub Phun!

Troutman, Man I LOVE brewing history. The ole Falstaff brewery was opened in Galveston in 1956. Actually that's when Falstaff bought out Southern Select Beer. The actual brewery was build in 1905 and was in cahoots with the Galveston Ice House which the Moonbeams Grand Dad ran for many many years. Her Dad worked at Falstaff. In fact that's why the brewery opened in the first place as they had access to ice from his Co. Gail Borden (Milk) started too because of the ice house. I believe Falstaff lasted for about 11 years. Big name breweries back in that day, as still is today are sold left and right really. In fact, the ole defunct Falstaff building on Ave 7 I believe is being brought back to life by some group. It's a historic building now. Not into a brewery, but something. Funny, I had a LOT of glassware from the original Falstaff building in Galveston. Original yeast pitchers, ton's of other stuff. We lost every single piece of glassware back in Hurricane IKE. We didn't loose any glassware this time. Still have ton's of stuff from that brewery in this room along with the Galveston Ice House stuff too.

Awesome, I have a beer can collection I started back in my junior high days. Love the nostalgia.

Thanks for the walk down memory lane. I remembered Falstaff from the Midwest, I believe they originated in St. Louis. Funny how beers come and go. If you grab an old Pabst or a Hamm’s or some other old German beer folks look at you crossways. If it’s not some boutique craft brew from someone’s cellar it ain’t cool. Plenty of old school German beer that still holds its own. I toast you sir with whatever brew you love to drink!!

Ha! Funny, all them ribbon's and cups, many many awards for brewing I boast and proud of them. Medal Man (we call him there) is holding my two National Gold medals for my beer. And my go-to beer to this day is Lone Star! LOL.
