Choice brand portable gas burner
Wakoli Damascus Steel 6 piece Knife Set
I’m sure this is a fine frying pan but my $20.00 T-Fal 12” frying pan from Walmart works great and I’m sure just as well. I’ve had it for 10 years now and I have no complaints. No way I’d spend $170. for that! 😳 Nice looking pan though.Last edited by Panhead John; May 2, 2026, 06:03 AM.

Titanium coated pans, for non stick value, are the current rage. Titanium is a relatively expensive material, so the higher price has some level of justification. The "Our Place" brand is slightly more expensive size for size, but in the range. In time cheaper knock offs will likely emerge that will be of lower quality and perhaps performance, so being familiar with the differences could be worthwhile.

Large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer Deluxe, Weber Smokey Joe Silver, Fireboard Drive, 3 DigiQs, lots of Thermapens, and too much other stuff to mention.
I probably won’t be around long enough for this stuff to hit estate sales; carbon steel hasn’t hit there yet. High end and medium quality stainless is everywhere, as is cheap, worn-out non-stick.
It all cooks food. I’ve worked with enough different stainless (different material, but the market for customers is the same) to see that escalating (retail) prices follow a common pattern of quality, perceived quality, function, and value. You get 1) cheap, virtually useless, low value, 2) medium priced, high function and value, and 3) high priced, higher function, lower value. As quality increases, price increases more quickly, because incremental improvements are not cheap!
Extrapolating that to the newer technology, it’s probably a good idea thrift wise to let the market expand, let competition and innovation work to lower prices. And you probably won’t see it on the used market for maybe 20 years.

As far as I know Viking makes great products. I have a set of their mixing bowls. I’m invested in DeBuyer carbon steel pans now and happier every time I use them. That being said, my stainless pots are showing their age so the Viking Pro pans are now on the list as possible replacements.

SNS
Pizza insert
Rotisserie
Cookshack Smokette Elite
2 Thermapens
Chefalarm
Dot
lots of probes.
Fireboard
I do wonder about longevity though. This line has only been available a few months, and before I put that much $$ out, I want to know that it's non-stick life is years longer than some of the cheaper non-stick available today.

At a slightly lower price point (for some of the pans) but seemingly similar technology... we just bought this set (though I paid $800 with a coupon) Amazon.com: Scanpan HAPTIQ 10 Piece Cookware Set: Home & Kitchen
We had trialed the first version of the Scanpan tech for I believe 5 or 6 years now with a 10 and an 8 inch pan. They still work great so we went ahead and replaced our entire stainless set of T-Fal (which is getting donated to a young service member moving out on their own for the first time)
The HAPTIQ is awesome everything in the set feels at least twice as heavy as anything we've had before. The heat retention is almost as good as cast iron.
The old stuff we have survived years of abuse, I would hand wash only and use wood/silicone stuff during the first year but then my wife started just using metal things and chucking it in the dishwasher and it's still almost as non-stick as it was around year 2 of ownership. Supposedly this new coating is even more resilient.
If you go this direction, just avoid their cheap tier product.
