    Misen Carbon Nonstick Pans

Has anyone tried one of their new pans? Looks interesting, but more than I normally pay for nonstick.

Our Carbon Nonstick™ Frying Pan is the easiest carbon steel pan you’ll ever use—perfect for home cooks looking to level-up from chemical nonstick to nontoxic coating-free cookware.

Looks interesting and I like that they do not use a coating and are made without forever chemicals. I'm thinking about this. Thanks for sharing.

ATK has said in the past that all nonstick pans will eventually need to be replaced, and that no one should pay a lot for one. If these pans are as good as they claim, I may just buy one the next time I need to replace one of my current nonstick pans.

Don’t know if they changed them from the original design but I have the set of 3. I really like them.

I have not tried Misen like this one, but I do have a Kitchen Aid carbon steel skillet made the same way. Kitchen Aid calls it “Nitrided carbon steel” Basically the same process. Skillet is hardened in nitrogen environment. I love mine so far! It is truly non-stick, cleans up easily, and I accidentally left it in the sink full of water, and no problems! Not a single sign of rust or any degradation.
I recently gave up on Misen. Since the handle broke on my 12” skillet I was disappointed. Also , the Kitchen Aid is deeper than the Misen skillet, and the handle has a better feel to it. I paid $109 on Amazon prime for the 12”, and so far I believe it’s worth every penny I spent. I am done with Misen for now. Just my not so humble opinion! YMMV.

I've seen a lot about Misen in recent years and have been curious myself, but never bit. I remain curious.

Have you looked at GreenPan? Meathead recommended them and I LOVE mine. They are my egg pans. Had them about 4 years and they hold up and are stick-free. My doggone kids even use them for non-egg purposes when I'm not around and they still perform wonderful and have held up.

I use GreenPan skillets. The ceramic non-stick works very well. I like them. Just try to keep heat to medium as the edges will pick some burned on discoloration at high heat that is hard to scrub of using soft scrubbers/cleansers.

I did the Misen Kickstarter for the new 3 pan set of 8, 10 and 12 inch sizes. They just arrived. We will cook on them over the next few days and then I will post about them.
