I have been eyeing a 7qt Staub Cocotte but the prices are ridiculous. I snagged my 4qt Staub at a great price and I saw this one which said blemish. Well I ordered it and it’s such a small dimple blemish but scored another great price. Maybe we will bake bread in it tomorrow or braise something.

Sweet! I've acquired a selection of both Staub and Le Crusette for my wife, and she loves them. We've got the 4qt coquette, and she uses it frequently. The grenadine is gorgeous! I bought her an 8 qt Le Crusette for Christmas this year - it's huge. Huge. (I found it on Sur Le Table for a great sale... Keep your eyes open!
She also loves, and highly recommends both.
Great buy!

I own no enabled cookware other than my bean pots. Lots of nonenamled black iron though. Haven't seen the need for it yet. I can do just about anything I need to in clad, or black iron. What do you think it excells and that the above is inadequate? They sure are pretty, convince me I need one.

I’m not sure the above is inadequate I think it’s more of a Need vs Want analysis lol. I actually like making stews in them as it holds a nice even heat and don’t get a burn spot in the middle or edge from the stove. Doesn’t mean I couldn’t accomplish this with something else in my case it was a Want scenario.

Perhaps the singular feature that Staub aficionados embrace is the matte black porcelain interior. There is a company by the name of LAVA that makes a very similar product that, to my experience, is equal in quality/performance to the Staub product. They're not always easy to find in the US, but when you do locate one you'll save roughly half from the typical Staub pricing. The pieces I have from LAVA have held up very well over time.

That’s good to know. I was seriously contemplating a Lodge and then was reading they weren’t made in the US and while I am sure they are fine a while back I thought I read something about the quality of the coating from a health and longevity perspective. It could of all been nonsense so I opted another route.
