When I lived in northeast Tenn/southwest Va, I saw them regularly in flea markets and thrift stores. I never got one, as they were a) expensive, even in cheap thrift stores, and b) I really can't tolerate the gluten. Lot of pizzelle makers, also, thinner metal usually and all kinds of flowery/swirly designs. Wish I had one now, I'd put hash browns in it.

I am a bit disappointed with the reviews I have found of CI waffle makers thus far. Inch-deep thoughts for not very serious waffle folks. Hmm.
