    What is this?

A local posted this picture and a question on another platform. I couldn't come up with a definitive use for this item, Google image search found a number of discussions on places like reddit, but no consensus on the real purpose. The most believable was for roasting vegetables, but it seems to be over kill for that.

So - all you cast iron experts, what is it?

Yeah, veggie and anything that might fall through standard grill gaps, griller.

I have a carbon steel very similar to that that I use for veggies.

Go to claycoyote.com. They make and sell a similar ceramic vessel, for vegetables.

It's designed for women. The holes are to reduce wind resistance so they can swing it faster and harder at their husband's heads when they come home with a new shooting iron instead of a gallon of milk.

Nah, we golden. Soccer tournament this morning for the youngest two, then little kids birthday party, then nap. We slept through the storm. Jerod Broussard you good? Need anything?

I'm good. Genny running the fridge, internet and computer. Got a good breeze blowing through the house. A/C was already off. Probably be at least tomorrow. Some folks in town were out this past Tuesday through Thursday.

It’s a live fire skillet. Veggies, meat or whatever else if you don’t have a suitable grate to cook on. They work awesome for steak bites.

I have one of those, not cast iron and the handle folds in which is nice to be save cooker space. Yes, mainly veggie but I've used for shrimp and rice recipes i.e. chicken fried. A handy tool.
