    Griswold find

I was perusing through an antique store in Bell Buckle TN this weekend and came upon this find. Since I'm originally from about 60 miles South of Erie PA, I have been wanting to track at least one of these down over the past few years. Yeah, I could easily buy on on e-Bay , but stumbling upon one makes it even a better find.

It's in very good condition, although I will clean it up and re-season myself. I believe this is the 1939 through 1940's generation of skillet?

The store had a bunch of Lodge and no-named skillets that I flipped over to check out the brands. Imagine my surprise when I flipped this one over. I am surprised that it's not as thick/heavy as my older Lodge skillets.

Nice find! I would just give that a good scrubbing and cook in it. Looks well seasoned.

Nice! How much did they charge you for it?

I got it for $45. It was more than the other non Griswold ones, but I think it was worth it, especially since I have been on the look out for one of these.

Does it not just light up your world when you find something like this? I found a Griswold skillet with lid at a flea market 10 years ago. I got it for like $35. They are so light compared to Lodge skillets. Beautifully made. It sits on top of my oven burner and I use it for frying bacon and eggs. Great find!! Congrats!!

Nice find! I would leave it as is, there is no reason to re season this pan. It looks just fine to me.

Been looking around for one of those. Have not found yet, but probably have more CI than I need anyway. Nice find!
