    Fresh australian kitchen cast iron

    Has anyone else used these?

I have 3 pieces from them for more than a year now and i have to say, its hands down the best ive ever used. To be fair, ive never owned, used, or purchased any really expensive pieces but ive personally found them to blow the cheaper lodge stuff out of the water.

Specifically, the from the factory seasoning is great. Ive found them to be almost completely non-stick from the jump. Using an IR gun they seem to heat very evenly. I dunno, im just very impressed. They seem to go in and out of stock on amazon or their website (which last i checked appeared to be not recently updated) so i do wonder whether they are a long term company or not. But either way, figured id share and see if anyone has had the same or very different experience.

MCS! You got me. The price has dropped on Amazon to $40. In Stock on the way. My bride does not thank you, but I do!

Def let me know what you think GolfGeezer. Ive never done a full season them, just maintain with crisbee or buzzwax. Hopefully you dont have to either! If i recall i did one round of proper seasoning at 500 degrees in the oven after i washed it off.

I sure will. My history with cast iron is not very good, so I'm looking forward to see if their product provides a better experience. Seasoning, or my poor attempts at it, are one reason I LOVE my Pit Boss Ultimate griddle - no rust or seasoning required!

Sounds nice but the super-seasoning thing doesn't speak to me because all my cast iron is super-seasoned. Are they much smoother than a lodge though? Because that's more of a selling point for me.

Attjack Supposedly these are very smooth compared to a Lodge. Mine will be delivered tomorrow, so I'll let you know.

Yes, they are extremely smooth. Take all this with a grain of salt as i am def not a cast iton pro like plenty of people here. But i loved them. Maybe that just means all the cast iron aficionados will hate them, lol.

I will be trying one also. Thanks for the link.

Attjack grantgallagher Just got my pan from Amazon. The box was slightly damaged, but the pan is pristine. It is VERY smooth on the inner surfaces. I don't know when I'll use it - sometime this coming week for sure. I do not plan to do my own seasoning. The very brief info sheet really does not say anything you don't already know about cast iron and maintaining it.

It is nice and hefty. I have a Stargazer 10" and this 12" is more the size I like. I also like the side pour spouts and the small second handle. I always struggle with the Stargazer due to the lack of pour spouts, so this will be a big improvement.
