My wife has purchased Le Creuset pots and pans at the outlet that had similar looking flaws. Maybe a chip is different than a manufacture flaw, maybe the French are trying to conquer the world one pan at a time. I have to agree with JFMorris and CHNeal; you probably ingest worst daily and a little pit will not kill you. I eat Boston baked beans from a 30 year old Le Creuset pot that the glaze is so warn you can see the metal showing through; maybe it will shorten my life but I enjoy the BBB enough to offset the risk. LOL!
