    Griswold stuff…

    Yes, the chicken, ribs & squash are about done in the pit… the sausage will go last…

    But this Griswold, is working too!

    A #10 Chuck Wagon, sitting on one of my Dad’s worn out disks… which is sitting on top of a Perfection skillet I found in the fireplace where his Mom set up housekeeping over 100 years ago…

          Awesome. That is a great find!

          Aaaand the old disc harrow is a classic for dutch oven cooking. I use the same for our dutch oven cooks at sauna night.

            Dad was born in 1927… from a time when you were taught not to throw anything away…

            So when he changed these old discs out, the old ones were relegated to the pit area…

            Hey, we still keep them at my buddies farm too. Even to this day, we use them to do cowboy cooks and dutch oven braising. They hold coals really well. Great to see others doing the same! Great shots, brother! Washblue

          One of the best peach cobblers I ever tried was cooked with coals above and below in a DO like that. There’s so much you can cook like that.
