Cast iron skillet score

Pretty much had given up on ever again getting a good deal on cast iron cookware at a yard/garage sale. Craigslist, Ebay, Etsy etc. have educated everyone on how much you can get for it, I even had a lady show me printouts from Ebay at a garage sale for a skillet she had for sale.

Walked into a countryside sale today and what do I see, some CI handles sticking out of a cardboard box. One 12" non-classic but solid Lodge, and unbranded Made in USA #8 that looked to be of good quality, and a #8 Wagner Ware in good condition.

Asked how much he wanted, paid the $10 and was on my way. They are still out there!

No pics of the Wagner, there is so much crust built up the logo is almost filled in but it is the real deal.

They are still out there. My wife and I take a day trip about once a month and hit antique malls, thrift stores, and junk shops. I look for cast iron, she looks for almost anything. It’s true that bargains are fewer but I’m still finding some. The toughest thing is trying to explain that their warped, pitted skillet isn’t worth much no matter what brand it is.
