OK. Anyone seen these "steamer" cleaning pads? This one was being sold at Sam's Club. Thought I'd give it a try. Verdict? The grill needs to be very hot, and even then, nope. Does not work very well Might use it a couple more times, but it's eventually heading for the trash. Don't bother buying it. All hype as far as I can see so far, but look at the pictures and make up your own minds on that.

Where does the cuisinart version fall short? The process is fairly simple. Heat to 400, soak brush, do 1-2 passes, soak again, and repeat until done.

I think the issue is due to me using it on a pk grill with hot and cool zones. The grill is either too cool, or burnt.

Sans outdoor cooker for the last 5 years. Time to change that.
I do have a Thermapen and a ThermoWoks Dot. So, I got that going for me.
When I had my little CharBroil, I used a wet paper towel and a pair of tongs. I am guessing this tool is much easier and works better with less effort.

Weber Kettle with an SNS
Masterbuilt kettle that I call the $30 wonder grill
Bullet by Bull Grills gasser
Anova WiFi sous vide machine
Thermoworks Thermapen and Chef Alarm
I’ve had the GrillRescue for a number of years now, still using the original pad. It works fairly well on the gasser turned up full blast. Seems to clean well after I hit the grates with the circular brush I have. Between the two it’s a good combo.
key to me, dipping the pad after every pass. That seems to work the best.

Weber MT Kettle, SnS, DnG, Easy Spin Stainless Steel Grate, Elevated SnS SS Cooking Grate, Vortex, Cajun Bandit Rotisserie, Oklahoma Joe Bronco, OKJ Bronco Triple Grate, Mini Weber Kettle ashtray Maverick XR-50, TimeStick Trio
I just used this Scrub Daddy BBQ brush from Lowes. I am very pleased with it. It did much better than my circular wire brush, wooden scraper, balled up aluminum foil, etc. It is well worth the $18.00. Make sure your grate is hot when using the brush. Is the grate perfect? No but much improved. My SS Easy Spin grate looks great and my 7+ year old original Weber grate is much better. As always, YMMV.Last edited by Purc; April 5, 2024, 02:24 PM.
