Does anyone use a ‘heavy duty griddle turner’? I’m looking at getting a new set of griddle tools, and have seen these. I’m thinking it could pull double duty as a burger smasher, which would be nice. But it’s also a lot thicker than a normal griddle turner, and not terribly flexible. So not sure it would have much use as an actual griddle turner. Could maybe be used as a ‘grill’ spatula?

I bought a set a few years back that include both of what you mention above, heavy duty like the photo, and then a longer, more flexible spatula that works for the pancake/crepe flipper or omelette and hash brown kind of flip. The two of them together work well, especially on the small lodge griddle I use them on. This does help with some of the stuff you want to crisp up, like a smash burger, or even the hash browns to make sure all comes up and then use the longer flex spatula to flip.
just how I use them at least.
