Current line-up of cookers: Oklahoma Joe's Bronco Pro, Masterbuilt Gravity Series 1050, Blackstone ProSeries 4 Burner 36" griddle, Weber Performer Deluxe and Weber Smokey Joe.
Blackstone offers a grill insert that replaces the griddle surface. I see a huge waste of energy and not much value with the Grillgrates.

Grilla Silverbac
Grilla Primate
Weber Kettle
Camp Chef Escape
Old Hickory Knives
More Cast Iron than I care to admit
I had not seen this. It looks like with the insert that they just released that they are taking a page out of CampChef's book. I dont see grill grates fitting in though.

The Grillgrate offering for griddles makes a little bit of sense for commercial kitchens that want to put the expected "grill marks" on items like steaks, chops or chicken, without investing in an actual grill - they can do it all on the cooktop they are already using. And Grillgrate was already serving that market with their commercial panels.
For backyard cooks like ourselves, it makes zero sense to add raised rails to your griddle, as we know that grill marks are not where the flavors at. And most of us have a grill with a grate that can make marks, if that is what floats your boat, or what is appropriate for the cook.
Personally, if I want to use a grill with rails or grates with a grid, I use my gas or charcoal grill, not my flat top. These may make a slight amount of sense to someone who ONLY has one grill - a flat top. The guy who got me looking at flat tops was my wife's surgeon back in May/June, and what he was showing me pictures of was a Blackstone Pro series 36", that he does all his backyard cooking on.
