I was given their salsa recipe from a friend that apparently got it from the owner. Not sure though as I’ve never been there. Super simple and easy.

Oh Shelia Ann - I literally was weaned on Tito's Tacos. My mother was friends with the owners. I grew up 4 miles from Tito's. If you grew up on Tito's, it is the greatest comfort food in the world. My whole family, friends family, neighbors, etc., love Tito's because they grew up on it. BUT, if you are trying it for the first time and you know what good tacos are, then you will not be impressed, but rather disappointed. The tacos would be kinda like Del Taco + (and that's being nice). It's just the food I grew up on. The local taco joint.
But I am so excited that my little area taco mecca is mentioned in AmazingRibs

TripleB my BF grew up with them as well! He even said they aren’t what they used to be. Actually, Panhead John commented on some store bought taco shells and that’s what I am reminded of here. BF said the shells were awesome when super crispy right out of the fryer.

SheilaAnn I probably go to Tito’s once a year now. Like everything else basically, it probably isn’t as good as it use to be as your BF stated. But you know Tito’s never did well in reviews. It really is an average taco, but what childhood memories. And those are always good. Cheers.
