Great! I could not see removing the lid and the bowl. I would have lived with it not working rather than doing that! I will take care of this when the weather warms up.

RAGBBQ , the Weber instructions suck. more accurately, they’re such overkill that they’re just confusing. For some reason any time you touch the grill, they want you to take the lid off and remove the bowl. Makes no sense.

it’s actually fairly easy. There’s a bolt on the front facing upward from the ground which holds the manifold to the compartment. Then there’s a bolt on the back of the manifold which holds it to the front of the compartment also. This one’s a bit of a pain to reach, but no issue if you have a ratchet and long extension.

then disconnect the igniter wires. I think that’s about it. Going off memory

How hard was the regulator to replace? Weber sent me a Valve/Regulator, but when I looked at the instructions, it appeared that I was going to have to go through a lot of work to get it done, so I did not try.

I’ve had to replace my regulator already and I rarely use the snapjet. I know I didn’t even get two tanks through it before it failed.

It was the regulator in my case too. I had a spare from when Weber just threw parts at me to fix my initial grill issues. Replaced it and now it works fine (for now). Thanks for the suggestion!

I suggest you try resetting the gas regulator that is part of the hose connection from the tank to the grill. Turn off the tank, disconnect the hose, open the grill's burner control wide open, wait a couple of minutes. Then close the grill's control, reconnect the hose. Slowly, very slowly, open the gas tank valve a quarter turn. Then try the snapjet. many gas hose regulators have a safety shutoff that closes/reduces gas flow if it "senses" a pressure differential. This resets that. Then if the snapjet or manual lighting does not work, call Weber.

Thanks for the tip! Gave this a try and no dice. I also swapped back to the old tank that I had refilled and it does it on that too. So I don’t think it’s the tank either. I’ll give Weber a note, I’m guessing they’ll tell me to replace the regulator.

I have gone through many tanks and I just started having this same issue with this last tank. I cleaned the tube not that long ago so I assumed it was a bad tank. I wouldn’t be surprised if they cheapened the tanks somehow that’s adversely affecting flow but I was holding off on any assumptions until I could try a new tank.

The summit charcoal uses the 1lb tanks. Not sure how that changes the procedure

I'd try cleaning the igniter tube. That worked for me. I think the best way is to use an air hose, but something like a bamboo skewer should work too.

Great idea! I had forgotten I had bamboo skewers I could use. I also had a tire pump I as able to blow air through the tube. Unfortunately, didn't fix it, so I guess I'll have to give Weber a ring. I'm guessing I have a parts delivery in my future

So my snap-jet ignition is on the fritz. I'm thinking it's a gas flow issue, maybe a regulator since I just replaced the tank. When I start it the way you're supposed to (slow turn and then engage the igniter), flame shoots out but them it immediately goes out. So I don't think it's the actual igniter. If I turn the gas on and light it manually, it burns but then pulses. Flame, no flame, flame, no flame, about every 1/2 - 1 seconds. I let it run for about 10 minutes, figuring that would burn off anything in the tube, but no real improvement. Before this, I had what I'd call a whistling coming out of the tube when it was burning.

Any thoughts before I give Weber CS a call?
