Carolyn Wells was there at the very beginning, the fall of 1985, when the first embers of thought were burning to create the Kansas City Barbeque Society. Carolyn is really the First Lady of BBQ. She was also instrumental in creating and organizing The Royal, the HUGE competition in KC, expanding membership in KCBS and growing its influence in the world. Carolyn is also a published author and essayist. These days Carolyn is the Executive Director of KCBS.
