    Show Me Your Soup

So its winter and we in the South are blessed with being able to smoke meat all year long. Unfortunately for our Northern brethren that may not always be the case. So what better time to stay indoors and make some soup. Soup is something I always make, regardless of the time of year. But nothing beats a nice warm, bubbly bowl of good homemade soup with a nice piece of crusty bread on a cold winter's day.

Oh and my excuse for not smoking outside? Lazy

So here's one I made a couple of week's ago one rainy day. Chicken Tortilla soup. Air chilled chicken thighs dredged in flour and pan fried. Cubed and added to a homemade chicken stock with Rancho Gordo midnight black beans (yea you guys got me started on that). Served with blue corn tortilla chips both in and out of the soup. Stuff was bowl lickin' good.

So come on guys, make up a big pot of something and show me your soup !!!

From back in November, I believe this is Tuscan white bean, sausage and kale soup made with turnip greens. And some bread...

Edit: oops, I pulled the wrong recipe from my bookmarks. Those are clearly black-eyed peas and some red beans. Must be turnip green soup.

Love soup. Just made some Albondigas soup last week that I thought was good, but the family was like 'meh'. But no pics. Below are Chicken soup, Fish Chowder and Chicken n' Dumplings. The CnD are a bit of a stretch regarding soup, but not a stew either.

We usually do Soup Sundays from late fall to spring here. Make a big pot of soup that helps get us through the week with lunches. Today is Lasagna though to switch things up a big (and give the stock pot a break)

Nothing wrong with veggie soup !!!!

Here’s a beef and vegetable soup I make each winter. Make a big pot and freeze the rest. It’ll usually last me all winter. I make it with a tomato and tomato sauce base. Love a good bowl of soup in the winter. Nice post here Troutman!

Tried some loaded baked potato yesterday. I spaced out on leaving some of the ingredients aside for garnishing but it was tasty nonetheless.

Troutman My wife picked up some premade stuff from the store awhile ago and it hit the spot, then she bought it again last week and I thought I had to try making some. It did not disappoint.
