Now there's an idea. Bacon beer test.

Seems similar to the idea of cooking brats in beer before finishing in the frying pan or on the grill.

When the water boils away you turn heat right down and the fat renders as it fries. I had no problems with spitting fat.

Doesn't it spit fat everywhere while cooking with the water?

I like canadian or NZ shouder bacon, thick cut with lots of meat. Not a bacon flavored chip.

You did mention that it was an experiment. So, chalk this one up to science. Dr. Holehog. Yessir , in the name of science.

And so if you put bacon in chili, stew, or baked beans you are in effect boiling it there too. I see no problem here, carry on.

So there ae more of us unscrupulous people. I confess to also putting water in a pan for frozen bangers and fresh "Boerewors". I'm sure I saw somewhere sometime ago about using water to cook bacon. At first I thought it was here in the pit then dismissed that idea immediately as not being possibility.Thanks.
