    Smoked Suckling Pig

Malcom Reed just posted this video on YouTube. I find it very helpful.

I have several of them in the oven right now, so to speak.

I have probably cooked a whole pig, but just one piece at a time.

Not much cuter than a newborn pig. Not much louder than pulling teeth out of a newborn pig, except when you castrate them. Installing nose rings are a close 3rd.

I sure miss all that homegrown smoked pork sausage.

Castration is by far the worst, clipping the teeth is really bad too.

Clint Cantwell can we get him on for a member Q&A session and video?

Suckling pig looks impressive (even without the apple). Only problem is you better have a rub &/or sauce that you really like because it has very little flavor compared to a much larger/older hog. Smoky crisp skin is good but meat is very bland.

I also second the noise those little screamers can make! Not all of my hearing loss can be blamed on unprotected gunfire. Screaming pigs played a very significant part also! Wish someone would have educated me about hearing protection about 60 years ago! 🤔

Ha! If someone was pulling my teeth (without numbing) and castrates me I would scream too. 😂

They aren't pulled, they are cut with nippers. It's to keep the needle teeth from irritating the sow's teats.

I know all about it. My grandfather raised hogs back when I was a kid. But thanks for the correction. I will be more careful next time. 😂
