We made Meathead 's Sweet and Sour Pork recipe and it was dy-no-mite! Made it again with shrimp in place of pork--another home run! Much less cloying than the standard Chinese restaurant version and the grilling took it to another level--no breading, no deep frying. We made one substitution--Welch's Mango/Passion Fruit juice in place of pineapple juice as we didn't have any of the latter.
I strongly recommend trying this one; just don't overcook the pork.
Edit add-on: For the second batch, we used one tablespoon of fresh minced (microplane) ginger in place of the one teaspoon of powdered ginger and added a few small cloves of minced garlic. Good.
