    Pork butt on the Mini

    Doing a 10# butt,today, on the Rec Tec Mini. Have Mini set at 235 degrees. Going to mop butt with a Carolina Mop Sauce every 45 min's.. Have always wrapped butts, but today going to try without wrapping.

      Have you mopped your butts before? Just wondering if it will take longer to cook since you'll be cooling the surface each time you mop. Let us know.

        I have spritzed the butts before but never mopped, Steve B . I heat the mop before applying so it doesn't go on cold.

      6 1/4 hours and internal hit 160. This is where I usually wrap, but going naked today.

          Thank you, Mr. Bones I touched it up a bit with some more rub on the bare spots. So should like even better in the long run.

        Hit 195 after 11 3/4 hours. Now wrapped in foil and a couple towels for at least 1 hr...maybe 2. Barkmeister?? Maybe...lol

                  Here is finished butt. Going to add some Carolina Vinegar Sauce to it to finish it off. It has GREAT flavor,already.
