Can you have too much pepperoni?

The Takeout investigates: Can you have too much pepperoni on a pizza?

Thanks for the article. Unfortunately, IMHO, yes you can have too much pepperoni. I know, being a lover of pepperoni pizza, I have tried and failed! 😬

As much as I love pepperoni, the top picture in that piece made my stomach churn and start planning for where the nearest bathroom was.

The bigger question is that quality pepperoni is hard to find and most people have never tasted "Quality" pepperoni.

Don't know about "Quality" but I do love "Quantity"!

To much of a good thing ends up being a bad thing.

Both meals today were pepperoni sammiches.

That is a great find. My answer before reading the article and looking at the photos would have been an emphatic "No" I have changed my mind. I cannot imagine a pizza with layers of pepperoni than was cooked hot and fast in a pizza oven. I could only imagine different textures, with some being undercooked.

Marco's Pizza has regular pepperoni and "old world pepperoni" which is smaller and less greasy. I also order my pizzas extra well done, which crisps the 'ronis up nicely.

I love Naples style pizza... cooked in a screaming hot oven for about 90 seconds with a crisp charred crust with a little chew left to it. That really puts a nice cook on pepperoni... but the pizza joints here in Dallas that do proper Naples style (VPN certified) think they're too "gourmet" to serve pepperoni pizza. Shame.

Having a pepperoni tonight. I am of the mind that too much is not good. In fact, I refuse to let the pepperoni's actually touch each other. I feel pretty strongly about that.
