was assigned to make an appetizer for tomorrow family thing . Also making medjadra for 24. Was asked for creative appetizer as I am the "cook" in the group. However I haven't had time to even make the rice dish so looking for something simple but creative and doesn't have to be bbq. thanks all

Stuffed pickles
I used garlic-dill pickles sliced in half and scooped out the seeded part then filled them with 50/50 cream cheese and a "Mexican blend" of shredded cheese. I wrapped 1/3 piece of bacon around each of the pickles and grilled them until the bacon was to my liking. These were great cold too.

A ton of Oscar Meyer mini weenies, both regular and cheese filled then tell them to wait for the real food.
I know that my wife likes them because that's one of her most often used "terms of endearment" for me , mini weenie. She truly loves me.

One of the things I like doing for big parties is to smoke a bunch of sausages, for me typically hot Italian, and then serve on buns or slider rolls if you want to limit portion size. Sometimes I sauté onions and peppers other times serve just with mustard. A crowd favorite and fairly hands off an easy to bang out lots of them.

Retired, living in Western Mass. Enjoy music, cooking and my family.
Current cookers Weber Spirit 3 burner. A 22" Kettle with vortex SnS and OnlyFire pizza oven. A Smokey Joe and the most recent addition a Pit Barrel Jr with bird hanger, 4 hooks and cover. ThermoWorks Smoke 2 probe, DOT, ThermoPop and a Thermapen Mk4. Recently added 2 TempSpike wireless meat thermometers.
I'd get 4 or 5 pupu platters from local Asian cuisine restaurant. And if they deliver that's a plus.
