    Mixed "Braai" Day

    I used to "Braai" plenty before my passion for smoking and reckon this be the third in a year or so.
    My brother’s birthday request as I had a bunch of things to take care of that didn’t allow for a long cook.

    I had read earlier on the sad news regarding Mr Johnson and decide to pay homage to Dan at the same time as many of you suggested you would be doing. I shared with the folk a few of my interactions with Dan and felt rather grim at the time of sharing, even though I hardly knew Mr. Johnson, Dan will be fondly remembered.

    I got to burn wood instead of charcoal much to my delight.

      That’s quite a load of cooking. I’m interested in Oopsies bacon skewers. Describe please.

        Oopsies are simply strips of streaky bacon wrapped around a wooden skewer and then marinated in a sauce. My daughter loves a cherry glaze. BBq sauce works well actually anything that tickles your bacon should do. Grill to crispy.

      Only thing I know about a braai is what size my wife's is... BUT your shin-dig looks awesome!
