All this goulash talk last week got me in the mood for it. I call it Oma’s goulash! Haha. Everything is in the pot simmering away for a few hours (red/green pepper, onion, little jalapeño for spice, flour, Hungarian half sharp paprika and stew meat). Half sharp was what Oma said to use, so by all means, half sharp it is. I bought noodles for this, but I may go hunting in the pantry for potatoes so I can make mashed potatoes instead.

Well here is my version. Made it today so it can mellow together for a couple days. Crew of us going fishing again this weekend so this will be a little comfort food in the fish house to wash down with a couple beers.

Again this isn't traditional Hungarian but more of a whatever I got laying around hot dish that I call goulash.
Contains the obvious macaroni, ground beef, a package of spicy smoked sausage that I cut up in chunks, stewed tomatoes, tomato sauce, a little bloody mary mix, celery, onions, garlic, smoked paprika, chipolte chili powder, ancho chili powder, fresh sweet corn that I froze from last years crop.

Thank you Mr. Bones Been in the dutch oven on the stove since about noon. Just had a small bowl just to taste test. Might add another hit of that paprika.

Despite it being in the 90s today I had a craving for goulash. So time to revisit! Oma’s goulash with mash! I went and visited her today and being in her house made me think of the aroma of paprika and peppers.

      So here we go!

Lol I do believe that’s kinda how goulash rolls, like a throw together type meal with what you have,

That looks good. My wife tried to make some from an online recipe several weeks ago and it turned out like spackle.

here you go. Let me know if you have any questions. I serve with mash potatoes but you can also do a nice wide egg noodle as well. Or spaetzle if you can find it, Or make it if you really wanna get authentic!
