Low country boil on the large BGE...👍

*5lbs New red potatoes 8 cobs of corn
    *1lb of Andouille sausage
    *3 crabs
    *5lbs of large shrimp
*Seasoning... Old Bay, salt and pepper
    1) I fired up the large BGE with a full load of lump
    2) I didn't use a grate just the plate setter, legs down. I lined the plate setter with grill grade aluminum foil
    3) I preheated the water in my SousVide bathtub to 200° to reduce the lump required to get a big pot of water to boil on the BGE
    4) when my guested arrive and adult beverages were served. I put in the potatoes & sausage and let them boil for 10 minutes.
    5) I added the corn on the cob, cut in half, and let them boil with the previous stuff for 5 minutes.
    6) I added the crabs and let them boil for 5 minutes.
    7) I added the shrimp and let them boil until the were opaque and turned red on the outside.
    8) I pull the pot off of the BGE, put the lid on and drained out the water.
    9) I dumped the entire pot of food on a lined serving table so everyone could pick what they wanted to eat.
    10) I made a nice bowl of coleslaw.
    11) I made a sourdough baguette and a loaf of rosemary & olive oil Italian bread.

All turned out well...👍 We dined at 4:00pm and my guest love the casual dining format.😎

Get a ceramic cooker... Instead of a portable burner. It gives more options.👌

I just bought a couple cheapies a few years back. I use them mainly for home brewing, and for my large wok, as well as emergency preparedness. Well worth the investment, but many of the "turbo" models are a bit overpriced. Mine are simple and work well.

Breadhead It looks good. If you can do it in your kitchen you can do it on your egg.

Now THAT is what I am talking about!! I lived six years in the Lowcountry, and that was one of my favorite dinners. The best thing is when you go to a restaurant, and they have a table with a hole in the middle where they put a bucket. You just dump all the waste in there and good to go!! 😎👍
      We called it Frogmore Stew.

👍... It a great way to get a bunch of close friends together and drink, eat and tell jokes?

Tonight was like Meathead says... It's not what's on the table, it's who's in the chairs.😉

          Danjohnston949 ...

That was my first ever country boil. I read about it on Allrecipes.com and decided to give it try on my BGE. I even had to buy a new stock pot to make it possible. It won't be my last country boil. That was a fun dining experience.

Here's how I like to do it Breadhead it's a tradition every 4th of July cookouts except I used Slap Yo Mama shrimp boil seasoning. Can't wait to do it again 😊

That looks fantastic. Thanks for the video I'm going to save it for halftime of the upcoming Cardinals/Seahawks game.
