I'm old enough to remember the first McDonald's in my home town, and all they had was hamburger or cheeseburger, and they were both under 50 cents (I think - it was the early 70's and someone else was paying!). The introduction of the Big Mac, Quarter Pounder, and McFish were a big change up in their menu back then.

I had a McRib back in the 80's and was not impressed. I had one when it came back around a few years ago, and was even LESS impressed. I think I would go for their value menu cheeseburger before the McRib.
